Job Title: Engineer - I (Communication)
Job Summary: The EMI/EMC Engineer is responsible for ensuring electromagnetic compatibility of UAV platforms across airborne, ground, and payload subsystems. The role involves design-stage EMC control, analysis and mitigation of EMI issues, qualification testing, and compliance with military standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform EMI/EMC testing and analysis for subsystems and full UAV systems.
Define and implement design strategies for EMI/EMC compliance, focusing on proper grounding, shielding, filtering, and decoupling.
Collaborate with hardware and mechanical teams on optimal placement of components and cable shielding strategies within the drone architecture.
Coordinate and execute EMI/EMC testing for UAV systems in anechoic chambers to measure radiated and conducted emissions and susceptibility.
Interpret and apply relevant aerospace and military standards, such as MIL-STD-461.
Debug EMI/EMC failures, identify root causes, and implement design modifications based on test outcomes.
Prepare and maintain EMC documentation
Qualifications & Skills
Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Electronics and Communication/ Electrical Engineering, or a related field is required.
Experience: 1-2 years of experience in Electromagnetics, EMI/EMC, or RF system engineering
Technical Skills:.
Strong understanding of EM theory and EMI/EMC coupling mechanism
Signal and Power integrity basics
Grounding, bonding, and shielding techniques
Cable management and harness design for EMC
Experience with schematic/layout review tools for EMC analysis is an advantage
Hands-on experience with spectrum analyzers / NF probes
Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in cross-functional teams.
