Bon Fiction is an award-winning, single-origin, tree-to-bar chocolate company founded in 2021. We work directly with cacao growers in the Godavari region of Andhra Pradesh to craft premium chocolates that showcase the unique potential of Indian cacao. About the Role
We're looking for a proactive Assistant Production Manager to help run Bon Fiction's day-to-day manufacturing operations while ensuring high standards of quality, efficiency, and food safety.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working on the factory floor, improving production processes, and building operational excellence in a fast-growing food manufacturing business.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day production operations and ensure smooth execution of production plans.
- Operate and optimise production equipment, including refining and conching systems.
- Plan daily production schedules to meet business requirements.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, hygiene, food safety, and quality standards.
- Monitor product quality throughout the manufacturing process.
- Improve production efficiency, reduce wastage, and optimise yields.
- Maintain production records, inventory, and manufacturing documentation.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance with the engineering team.
- Lead, train, and support production operators on the shop floor.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely production and dispatch.
What We're Looking For
- 2–5 years of experience in food manufacturing or production operations.
- Strong understanding of production planning, process optimisation, and factory operations.
- Knowledge of GMP, food safety, hygiene, and quality systems.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and people management skills.
- High ownership, accountability, and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working hands-on in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with production software such as Odoo is an advantage.
Preferred Background (Not Mandatory)
Experience in one or more of the following industries:
- Food Manufacturing
- Confectionery
- Dairy
- Food Processing
- FMCG Manufacturing
- Beverage Manufacturing
Experience in chocolate or confectionery manufacturing will be an added advantage.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Food Engineering, Dairy Technology, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
