Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Designer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating precise mechanical designs, developing detailed drawings, and supporting system integration for a variety of innovative projects. Duties
- Develop detailed 2D and 3D mechanical models, schematics, and assembly drawings using CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Revit.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design mechanical systems, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and system layouts aligned with project requirements.
- Utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools to integrate mechanical designs within larger architectural or structural frameworks.
- Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards to ensure precision and manufacturability of components.
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and other simulation techniques to validate design integrity under operational conditions.
- Prepare comprehensive CAD documentation, technical reports, and assembly instructions for manufacturing and construction teams.
- Support the design of piping systems, schematics, and P&ID diagrams while adhering to ASME codes & standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience in mechanical drafting, 2D CAD drafting, and 3D modeling for product or system design.
- Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, MicroStation, NavisWorks, Revit, Bluebeam, and PDM software.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and the ability to apply them effectively in design projects.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems design including piping, instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), schematics, and system integration.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as ASME codes & standards and best practices in GD&T.
- Experience with construction projects or related fieldwork is a plus.
- Excellent technical writing skills for creating clear documentation and reports.
- Ability to perform FEA analysis and utilize BIM tools for complex system modeling.
- Strong attention to detail combined with excellent problem-solving skills in a collaborative environment.
