The Production Manager is responsible for planning, managing and controlling production operations to ensure safe, efficient, cost-effective and quality-driven manufacturing. The role is responsible for achieving production targets, optimizing manpower and material utilization, minimizing waste and downtime, maintaining equipment reliability, and ensuring compliance with company policies, QHSE requirements, product specifications and applicable standards.
Plan, organize and manage day-to-day production activities to achieve production targets.
Develop and implement production plans and schedules in coordination with Planning Sales, Stores, QC, Maintenance and Logistics.
Ensure production activities are carried out in accordance with approved SOPs, work instructions, formulations and process parameters.
Monitor production performance against planned targets and take appropriate corrective actions.
Establish, monitor and review production KPIs related to productivity, efficiency, quality, downtime, waste and cost.
Lead and manage production teams and ensure effective utilization of manpower.
Allocate manpower and resources according to production requirements and priorities.
Ensure optimum utilization of raw materials, packaging materials, equipment and other production resources.
Promote lean manufacturing, process optimization and continual improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety requirements and company QHSE procedures.
Ensure appropriate PPE is used and safe working practices are followed by all production personnel.
Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to production team members.
Coordinate with HR regarding manpower requirements, recruitment, training and disciplinary matters as applicable.
Participate in Management Review, internal audits, customer audits and external audits as required.
Ensure compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, customer and company requirements.
