Job Description – Operations & Maintenance (O&M) – Solar GroundMounted Projects
Position: O&M Engineer / O&M Manager

Location: Head Office (HO) – with regular site visits

Reporting To: Head – O&M / Project Head
1. Job Purpose To manage and monitor the Operations & Maintenance activities of ground-mounted And rooftop solar power projects from the Head Office, ensuring optimum plant performance, timely maintenance, minimum downtime, safety compliance, and effective coordination with site teams, vendors, OEMs and management.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. HO-Based Project Monitoring Monitor daily plant generation, PR, CUF, availability and major performance parameters. Review daily/weekly/monthly O&M reports received from project sites. Preparation of a consolidated weekly report by compiling the performance, operational status, maintenance activities, safety observations, generation data, and key issues from all solar power plants for review at the Head Office Monitor plant performance through SCADA/remote monitoring systems. Identify generation losses, abnormal trends, equipment failures and recurring issues. Coordinate with site O&M teams for immediate corrective action. Maintain a centralized O&M dashboard and project-wise performance tracker.
B. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance Prepare and monitor preventive maintenance schedules for: o Solar PV modules o Inverters/PCUs o HT/LT systems o Transformers o RMU/VCB/Switchgear o SCADA and communication systems o DC/AC cables o Earthing and lightning protection o MMS/trackers, if applicable o Weather monitoring systems o Auxiliary systems Track breakdowns and ensure timely restoration of equipment. Review root-cause analysis (RCA) for major breakdowns and repeated failures. Ensure closure of maintenance activities within defined timelines.
C. Site Team & Vendor Coordination Coordinate with Site Engineers, O&M technicians, contractors and OEMs from HO. Plan and coordinate site visits based on project requirements. Monitor manpower deployment and productivity. Coordinate with OEMs/vendors for warranty, AMC and technical support. Verify vendor service reports and maintenance completion reports.
D. Performance & MIS Prepare daily, weekly and monthly O&M MIS. Track: o Generation vs. target o PR and CUF o Plant availability o Inverter availability o Equipment downtime o Breakdown history o Generation loss o Maintenance status o Spares consumption Highlight critical issues and provide management with action plans.
E. Spares & Inventory Monitor critical O&M spare requirements from HO. Maintain project-wise critical spare inventory records. Coordinate procurement of required spares with the Procurement team. Track consumption, replacement and availability of critical spares.
F. Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with electrical safety, work-at-height, PPE and LOTO procedures. Monitor statutory inspections and required electrical safety documentation. Ensure proper maintenance records, checklists and permits are maintained. Coordinate with HSE/Safety team for incident reporting and corrective actions.
G. Documentation & Asset Management Maintain complete O&M documentation for each project. Maintain equipment-wise maintenance history and breakdown records. Maintain warranties, AMC contracts, OEM manuals and technical documents. Develop and maintain project-wise asset registers. Ensure proper handover of EPC documents to O&M.
H. Improvement & Cost Control Identify opportunities to improve plant generation and reduce O&M costs. Analyse recurring failures and recommend permanent corrective measures. Monitor O&M budgets and major maintenance expenses. Support management in evaluating AMC/O&M vendors.
3. 4. Qualification & Experience Qualification: Diploma/B.E./B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering preferred. Experience: 4–6 years of relevant experience in Solar PV O&M, preferably in utility-scale/ground-mounted solar projects. Experience in managing O&M activities from HO/control-room environment will be preferred. Experience with SCADA, HT/LT systems, inverters, transformers and solar plant electrical systems is desirable.

6. Preferred Experience Experience in handling multiple ground-mounted solar projects simultaneously from Head Office, including remote performance monitoring, site team coordination, vendor management, maintenance planning and management reporting, will be an added advantage.
Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
