Job Summary: MEP Manager
We are seeking an experienced and proactive MEP Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and installation of mechanical, electrical distribution, HT/LT, power distribution, earthing grids and plumbing systems on school & building projects. He will serve as the primary liaison between design consultants, subcontractors, and field teams to ensure all MEP systems are installed safely, within budget, and on schedule, complying with all local electrical codes and design specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Oversee the full lifecycle of MEP systems from design review and procurement through installation, testing, commissioning, and final handover.
- Coordination & Integration: Coordinate with architectural, structural, and civil teams to resolve MEP clashes and ensure seamless integration with the overall construction process.
- Subcontractor Management: Manage MEP subcontractors, ensuring quality workmanship, adherence to timelines, and safe working practices.
- Budget & Cost Control: Develop project budgets, estimate costs for labor/materials, monitor expenditures, and implement corrective actions to prevent overruns.
- Site Management: Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and safety regulations (HVAC, fire protection/fire alarm, electrical, plumbing).
- Documentation: Prepare progress reports, manage RFI (Request for Information) processes, and review shop drawings and technical submittals.
- Commissioning & Closeout: Lead the testing and commissioning of all MEP systems, ensuring operational readiness and completion of as-built documentation.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in MEP management, specifically within commercial, industrial, or complex construction projects.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of HVAC, electrical distribution, fire protection, and plumbing systems.
- Electrical Commissioning: Lead the testing and commissioning of electrical systems (substations, generators, UPS, BMS) and facilitate final handover.
