A Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) Technician at a Royal Enfield dealership plays a crucial role in the final stage of the customer journey. You are the last line of defense—the person who ensures the motorcycle is in perfect, showroom-ready condition before it is handed over to the customer.
*Core Responsibilities* Execution of PDI Checklists: Systematically inspect every motorcycle arriving from the factory using the official Royal Enfield PDI checklist. This covers mechanical, electrical, and cosmetic integrity. System Management: Open PDI job cards in the dealership’s software/system, document all findings, and mark the vehicle as "Ready for Allocation" or "Ready for Delivery" once inspections and corrections are complete. Mechanical & Electrical Checks: * Verify all fluid levels (engine oil, brake fluid, etc.). Ensure proper battery charging and electrical component functionality (headlights, indicators, instrument cluster, etc.). Check for correct operation of the brakes, clutch, suspension, and engine performance. Cosmetic Inspection: Thoroughly check the paintwork, chrome, frame, seat, and other body components for any transit damage, scratches, or manufacturing defects. Vehicle Preparation: Perform basic assembly or fine-tuning as required (e.g., fitting mirrors, ensuring fasteners are tightened to torque specifications, checking tire pressure). Quality Feedback: Act as a feedback loop to the service and quality teams by reporting any recurring manufacturing or transit issues found during your inspections. Coordination: Work closely with the Sales and Delivery teams to ensure a smooth, on-time handover to the customer.
