Civil 3D Designer (Roads & Infrastructure)

Capital Engineering Consultancy LLC is seeking an experienced Civil 3D Designer to join our Chennai Design Centre, supporting major Roads & Infrastructure projects across the GCC. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Civil 3D modelling, road design drafting, utility coordination, and preparation of authority submission drawings while working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed road and infrastructure design drawings using Autodesk Civil 3D for GCC projects.
- Develop and maintain Civil 3D models, including alignments, profiles, corridors, assemblies, grading, and cross-sections.
- Produce plan, profile, section, and detailed construction drawings for roads, highways, intersections, roundabouts, and associated infrastructure.
- Prepare drawings for stormwater drainage, sewerage, water supply, irrigation, and utility corridors based on engineering design.
- Perform surface modelling, terrain analysis, grading design, and feature line development.
- Develop and modify pipe networks and utility layouts using Civil 3D.
- Generate earthwork calculations, cut-and-fill analysis, quantity take-offs, and corridor reports.
- Coordinate with Civil Engineers, Utility Engineers, Structural Engineers, BIM teams, and other disciplines to ensure design integration.
- Prepare tender, IFC, construction, authority submission, and as-built drawings.
- Revise drawings based on client comments, internal reviews, and authority review feedback.
- Ensure all drawings comply with company CAD standards, QA/QC procedures, project specifications, and GCC authority requirements.
- Maintain drawing registers, revision histories, and Civil 3D data shortcuts.
- Coordinate closely with UAE/GCC project teams to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
- Assist in multidisciplinary design coordination and clash resolution.
- Support senior engineers during design development and project execution.
- Mentor junior CAD technicians and promote Civil 3D drafting best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Civil 3D Designer.
- Mandatory experience working in an Engineering Consultancy.
- Strong experience in Roads & Infrastructure projects for GCC/UAE clients.
- Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
- Experience with road geometry, corridor modelling, grading, surfaces, profiles, cross-sections, and utility design.
- Familiarity with GCC authority standards and submission requirements.
- Strong coordination skills with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Excellent attention to detail, communication, and time management skills.
- Ability to work from the Chennai Office while supporting GCC projects.
