Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service .

Connect, clean, and transform data from multiple sources including Excel , SQL databases , SharePoint , APIs , and cloud based data sources .

Write DAX measures , calculated columns, and basic Power Query transformations to support business KPIs.

Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and convert them into clear visual dashboards.

Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and quality across reports and dashboards.

Support the maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimisation of existing Power BI reports.

Assist in creating reusable data models, semantic models, and reporting templates.

Document report logic, data sources, data models, and transformation steps for knowledge sharing.

Participate in team meetings, sprint planning, requirement discussions, and review cycles.

Explore and support the use of Power BI MCP servers or similar integration approaches for connecting Power BI with AI assisted workflows and external tools.

Assist in evaluating how AI tools can be used for faster data analysis, DAX generation, report documentation, insight generation, and dashboard development.

Support basic integration of Power BI reports into web applications or internal portals, where required.

Education: BE / BTech / BSc student in Computer Science, Information Science, Data Science, IT, or related field.

Experience: Fresher / up to 1 year of academic, internship, or project experience.

Strong interest in Business Intelligence , Data Analytics , Reporting , and Automation .

Ability to learn quickly and work in a collaborative team environment.

Technical Skills

Hands-on experience or academic project exposure to Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.

Basic understanding of DAX and Power Query / M language.

Familiarity with data modelling concepts such as star schema, relationships, hierarchies, fact tables, and dimension tables.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data preparation and analysis.

Basic SQL knowledge for querying relational databases.

Exposure to data sources such as Excel, CSV, SQL Server, SharePoint, REST APIs, or cloud databases.

Understanding of dashboard design principles, including layout, filters, drill-through, bookmarks, and user-friendly navigation.

Basic knowledge of Power BI workspace, publishing, refresh schedules, access permissions, and report sharing.

Good understanding of data validation, data quality checks, and reconciliation.

Awareness of Power BI MCP servers, AI agents, or tool-based integrations will be an added advantage.

Basic knowledge of web application development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Angular, or similar technologies is good to have.

Familiarity with embedding Power BI reports into web applications or portals is an added advantage.

Exposure to AI tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot, or similar platforms for productivity, analytics, documentation, or code assistance is desirable.

Basic understanding of APIs, JSON, and data integration concepts is good to have.

Good to Have Skills

Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, Dataflows, or Power BI semantic models.

Exposure to Python or R for data analysis.

Understanding of Git or basic version control practices.

Experience with academic or personal dashboard projects.

Ability to use AI responsibly for generating insights, improving DAX, creating documentation, and accelerating analysis.

Interest in automation, AI assisted reporting, and modern BI platforms.

Soft Skills

Strong attention to detail with a structured and analytical approach to problem-solving.

Good communication skills with the ability to explain data insights to non-technical stakeholders.

Curiosity to explore new tools, technologies, and AI enabled workflows.

Ability to work independently as well as in a team.

Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
