About the Role
Ganesamoni Hospital, a well-established multispecialty hospital in Nagercoil, is looking for a responsible and clinically competent MBBS Duty Doctor to join our medical team.
The Duty Doctor will be responsible for providing day-to-day medical care to inpatients, attending emergencies, monitoring patients and coordinating care with consultants and nursing staff.
This is a good opportunity for an MBBS doctor who wants to develop strong practical experience in inpatient care, emergency management and multidisciplinary hospital practice while working closely with experienced consultants.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend to patients in the wards and emergency department.
- Assess patients and initiate appropriate treatment within the scope of practice.
- Monitor admitted patients and identify clinical deterioration early.
- Attend medical emergencies and provide initial stabilization.
- Implement treatment plans advised by consultants.
- Coordinate with consultants, nursing staff, laboratory and other departments.
- Review investigations and communicate clinically significant findings to the treating consultant.
- Maintain accurate case sheets, progress notes and other medical documentation.
- Conduct regular ward rounds and ensure continuity of patient care.
- Provide appropriate handover to the incoming Duty Doctor.
- Ensure compliance with hospital clinical protocols, infection-control practices and patient-safety standards.
- Communicate professionally and compassionately with patients and their attendants.
Eligibility
- MBBS from a recognized medical college.
- Valid Tamil Nadu Medical Council registration.
- Good clinical assessment and communication skills.
- Ability to recognize and manage common medical emergencies.
- Willingness to work rotational shifts, including night duties.
- Fresh MBBS graduates with internship completion are welcome to apply.
- Previous hospital experience will be an advantage.
Preferred Skills
- BLS certification preferred.
- Basic knowledge of ECG and common emergency protocols.
- Good documentation and computer skills.
- Good communication in Tamil and English.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
