Job Summary
Local POS Depot is hiring Accountants in India to support our growing U.S.-based merchant services and small business clients. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in U.S. accounting, bookkeeping, QuickBooks, Xero, tax filing support, payroll coordination, reconciliation, sales tax, financial reporting, and small business compliance.
The selected candidate will help manage day-to-day accounting tasks for small businesses such as restaurants, retail stores, salons, smoke shops, convenience stores, and other service-based businesses.
We are looking for a detail-oriented, deadline-focused accountant or bookkeeper who can work accurately, communicate clearly, and support U.S. accounting and tax workflows.
Key Responsibilities
As a US Accounting & Tax Support Specialist, you will handle:
- Monthly bookkeeping and account reconciliation
- Bank, credit card, and merchant account reconciliation
- QuickBooks Online / Xero bookkeeping support
- Sales tax filing support and reporting
- Profit & loss statements and cash flow reports
- Expense review, deduction tracking, and categorization
- Payroll support and payroll coordination
- Annual business tax filing support
- Business license renewal tracking
- Compliance document follow-up
- Client documentation and email support
- Coordination with internal teams for accounting, tax, and merchant services needs
- Preparing financial reports for small business owners
- Supporting U.S. small business accounting and tax workflows
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have:
- Experience with QuickBooks Online, Xero, or similar accounting software
- Strong knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets
- Experience in bookkeeping, accounting, reconciliation, payroll, sales tax, or tax preparation support
- Understanding of U.S. small business accounting is preferred
- Experience working with U.S. clients is a plus
- Knowledge of restaurants, retail stores, convenience stores, smoke shops, salons, or merchant services is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple clients/tasks
- Good written communication skills in English
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
