Job Title: Proposal Engineer

Location: Chakan, Chinchwad
Job Purpose:
To prepare competitive and technically accurate proposals and quotations for automation solutions based on customer requirements, working closely with the design, costing, and sales teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Review customer RFQs (Request for Quotations) and understand project scope, technical specifications, and commercial requirements.
Interact with the design and engineering team to gather technical inputs.
Prepare cost estimates, solution layouts, and techno-commercial proposals.
Coordinate with vendors and internal departments to obtain pricing and lead time for bought-out items.
Ensure proposals meet customer expectations, internal margin targets, and delivery timelines.
Support the sales team during customer meetings and technical discussions.
Maintain proposal documentation and records for future reference and audits.
Assist in developing proposal templates, standard documentation, and pricing tools.
Key Skills and Competencies:
Sound knowledge of industrial automation, SPMs, robotics, and control systems.
Proficiency in reading mechanical and electrical drawings.
Excellent skills in AutoCAD, SolidWorks (basic), and MS Office.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle multiple proposals under tight deadlines.
Qualifications and Experience:
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
3–5 years of experience in proposals/estimations in the automation or capital equipment industry.
Familiarity with costing methods and proposal lifecycle.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with automotive industry.
Familiarity with ERP systems for quote management.
Basic knowledge of project management tools.
