Role
As the Head of Product Strategy & Planning you will be a part of the Emerging Mobility Buisness Unit (EMBU) and will report to the Chief Business Officer, EMBU.
In this role, you will be responsible for defining the long-term product vision, product roadmap and strategic positioning of our EV portfolio at VIDA. You will bridge the gap between market research, consumer insights, technological capabilities (battery, powertrain, software) and business goals (P&L) to build the next generation of electric vehicles. You will lead the global product planning team to ensure our products are competitive, profitable and desired by the consumer.
A purpose driven role for you
Your key responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
1. Strategic Product Planning & Roadmap Development:
Define the 3-5 year product portfolio strategy and vision, aligned with company goals and market trends.
Develop a comprehensive product roadmap, prioritizing features, variants, and new platform launches.
Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes (subsidies, compliance) to identify growth opportunities.
2. Consumer Insights and Product Definition:
Translate consumer research and pain points into actionable functional and technical product requirements.
Define the Unique Selling Proposition (USP) for new products and variants.
Oversee Product Concept Development through Proof of Concepts (POC) and consumer validation/clinics.
3. Business Case & P&L Responsibility:
Build strong business cases for new product developments, including volume forecasting, pricing strategy, and cost structures.
Take responsibility for the Product P&L (profit and loss) across the product lifecycle.
Manage the "Design-to-Value" approach to build design to cost
4. Cross- Functional Leadership:
Collaborate with R&D, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Marketing, Sales, Service teams to ensure alignment from conceptualization to launch.
Work with Sales and Marketing to define go-to-market strategies and product positioning.
5. Stakeholder Management & Team Leadership:
Present product strategies and visionary innovations to the executive leadership team.
Lead and mentor a team of Product Managers and Product Planners.

Academic Qualification & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Automotive) required; MBA from a top-tier institution is highly preferred.
Experience: 16-20 years of experience in product management, strategy, or planning, with at least 5 years specifically in the Automobile or Electric Vehicle sector (2-wheeler experience preferred).
Technical Skills/Knowledge
Industry Expertise: Solid understanding of EV components (battery management systems, powertrain, charging infrastructure, connected features).
Analytical Skills: Expert in market analysis, business modeling, pricing strategies, and data-driven decision-making.
Leadership: Proven experience in managing teams and influencing cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority.
Passion: Strong passion for electric vehicles and sustainable mobility solutions.
