Role Overview
We are looking for a creative and technically skilled 3D Footwear Design & Computational Design Intern with strong hands-on experience in Rhino 3D and Grasshopper. The role will focus on developing innovative footwear forms, components, patterns, and complex geometries for prototyping and 3D printing.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and refine 3D footwear designs using Rhino.
- Create and modify complex footwear geometries, surfaces, and forms.
- Use Grasshopper for parametric and computational footwear design.
- Develop Grasshopper workflows for generating and modifying footwear patterns, textures, structures, and geometries.
- Convert design concepts into accurate 3D models suitable for prototyping and manufacturing.
- Prepare and optimize 3D models for SLA 3D printing.
- Work closely with the production and prototyping team to test and improve designs.
- Modify designs based on physical prototypes, fit requirements, and manufacturing constraints.
- Explore new forms, structures, textures, and computational design approaches for footwear.
- Maintain organized Rhino, Grasshopper, and production files.
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Rhino 3D.
- Good practical knowledge of Grasshopper — candidates should be able to create and modify definitions independently.
- Strong understanding of 3D modeling, curves, surfaces, and complex geometry.
- Interest in footwear design, product design, or computational design.
- Understanding of design-for-manufacturing and 3D printing is an advantage.
- Good visual sense and attention to detail.
- Ability to experiment, prototype, and solve design problems creatively.
Preferred Skills
- Previous experience in footwear design or product design.
- Experience creating parametric patterns, textures, lattices, or structures in Grasshopper.
- Knowledge of Grasshopper plugins is a plus.
- Experience with 3D printing and prototype development is preferred.
- A portfolio demonstrating Rhino + Grasshopper projects is highly preferred.
What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate is someone who is not just familiar with Rhino and Grasshopper but has genuine hands-on experience creating models and Grasshopper definitions. A strong portfolio showing footwear, product, computational, or complex 3D design work will be an advantage.
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
