The Purchase Executive is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, products, and services required by the organization. The role ensures timely procurement at competitive prices while maintaining quality standards and building strong vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and identify reliable suppliers for required materials and services.
- Obtain quotations, compare prices, and negotiate favorable terms with vendors.
- Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with company policies.
- Coordinate with internal departments to understand procurement requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment of stock.
- Track order status and follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery.
- Verify purchase invoices and coordinate with the accounts department for payment processing.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases, and purchase documentation.
- Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, cost, delivery, and service.
- Resolve issues related to supply delays, quality concerns, or discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and statutory requirements.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Tally, or similar) is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
