Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrician to join our service team at Eicher Commercial Vehicles, Nagercoil. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining the electrical and electronic systems of commercial vehicles while ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose electrical and electronic faults in Eicher commercial vehicles.
- Repair and replace wiring harnesses, batteries, alternators, starters, sensors, relays, switches, and lighting systems.
- Troubleshoot vehicle electrical systems using diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance and electrical inspections as per company standards.
- Install and configure electrical accessories and vehicle components.
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and service manuals.
- Ensure all repairs are completed accurately and within the prescribed turnaround time.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Maintain service records and report repair status to the service advisor or workshop supervisor.
- Support the workshop team in achieving productivity and customer satisfaction targets.
Required Qualifications
- ITI in Electrician, Automobile Electrician, or a related trade.
- Diploma in Electrical/Automobile Engineering is an added advantage.
- 1–3 years of experience in commercial vehicle electrical repair and maintenance is preferred.
- Freshers with relevant technical training may also apply.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of automotive electrical systems.
- Ability to use multimeters, scan tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Basic understanding of CAN bus systems and electronic control modules.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and time management skills.
Working Conditions
- Work in a commercial vehicle workshop environment.
- May be required to work extended hours during peak service periods.
- Must follow all workplace safety and quality standards.
Salary
Salary will be based on qualifications, experience, and company policies.
Reports To: Workshop Supervisor / Service Manager
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
