The Storekeeper is responsible for the daily management of all inventory—materials, components, consumables, and finished goods—ensuring accurate stock records, timely issuance of materials to the production department, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment. Key Responsibilities
- Receiving & Inspection: Unload incoming shipments, inspect goods for damage, verify quantities against purchase orders/delivery notes, and generate Material Received Reports (MRR).
- Inventory Control & Management: Properly label and store materials in designated locations. Utilize First In, First Out (FIFO) methods to prevent material deterioration.
- Production Support: Timely issue raw materials and components to the production floor based on approved requisitions.
- Stock Monitoring & Replenishment: Maintain minimum stock levels for critical materials and notify purchasing to reorder as necessary.
- Documentation & Systems: Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all inventory movement in the ERP system (e.g., SAP, Tally) or inventory software.
- Auditing & Stock Take: Perform regular physical stock counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical stock and system records.
- Safety & Housekeeping: Maintain a neat, clean, and organized store area according to H&S regulations to ensure safe operation.
- Scrap Management: Identify and handle the disposal of scrap materials and obsolete inventory.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience as a Storekeeper, Warehouse Clerk, or similar role, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in inventory management software (must Tally) and MS Excel.
- Equipment Operation: Forklift license/certification (counterbalance/reach truck) is highly desirable.
- Attention to Detail: High accuracy in recording data and inspecting goods.
- Physical Stamina: GOOD.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
