Purpose
In close collaboration with Worley Digital and other business functions, the Lead Architect – Intelligent Digital Services & Applications will lead the secure design and delivery of global digital services and applications. This role is highly technical and central to shaping Worley’s digital future by establishing a secure, scalable, and AI-enabled application architecture that supports business growth, operational efficiency, and risk mitigation.
The Lead Architect will drive the development of a forward-looking digital services blueprint, integrating modern application architecture principles, cloud-native platforms, and secure-by-design methodologies. A key focus will be embedding AI and machine learning capabilities into digital services to enhance automation, decision-making, and user experience across Worley’s global operations.
The Role
As a Director, Strategy and Architecture with Worley, you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience etc.
About You
To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:
Education & Background
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
15+ years of experience in IT leadership roles, including enterprise and application architecture.
Experience in EPCM or consulting environments (highly desirable).
Technical Expertise:
Proven experience in designing and delivering secure, AI-enabled digital services and applications at scale.
Deep understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS models.
Expertise in application architecture, microservices, APIs, event-driven systems, and data integration.
Strong cybersecurity acumen, including secure SDLC, identity and access management, and zero trust frameworks.
Hands-on experience with AI/ML platforms, data pipelines, model lifecycle management, and responsible AI practices.
Familiarity with agile, DevSecOps, CI/CD, and MLOps practices.
Knowledge of architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Open Group, SABSA).
Leadership & Strategy:
Demonstrated success in leading enterprise architecture functions in global organizations.
Experience in global project delivery and managing distributed architecture teams.
Ability to translate business strategy into actionable technology and AI roadmaps.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
