Job Summary
The Senior Machine Operator is responsible for overseeing and operating production machinery, coordinating production schedules, and ensuring high-quality output with minimal downtime. The role involves supervising junior operators, contributing to new product development and machine trials, ensuring adherence to quality standards, and optimizing manpower and machine efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Machine Operation & Production
- Operate and monitor various machines (e.g., injection moulding, any specific machinery used in the factory).
- Set up machines for daily production, adjust machine parameters, and ensure first-piece approval.
- Achieve daily and shift-wise production targets while maintaining quality standards.
- Identify and resolve minor mechanical or operational issues to minimize downtime.
- Ensure correct usage of tools, dies, and production inputs for accurate output.
2. New Product Trials
- Actively participate in new product development trials with the R&D or product development team.
- Provide feedback on machine performance, process feasibility, and improvements during trials.
- Assist in modifying machine settings or tooling for trial runs.
- Document trial results and suggest machine/process optimizations.
3. Supervision and Training of Junior Operators
- Guide and supervise junior machine operators, helpers, and apprentices on the shop floor.
- Train new recruits on safe machine operations, production techniques, and company protocols.
- Monitor performance and quality output of junior operators.
- Ensure that junior staff follow safety, quality, and production standards.
4. Quality Control & Reporting
- Inspect raw materials before production and finished goods post-production.
- Ensure product quality meets company and customer specifications.
- Conduct in-process quality checks and ensure products meet defined specifications.
- Identify and isolate non-conforming products, and report deviations to the quality team.
- Maintain shift-wise production reports, downtime logs, and machine utilization records.
- Report any recurring issues or unsafe practices to the supervisor.
5. Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
- Train team members on safe equipment operation.
- Report any safety incidents or hazards immediately.

- Strong technical knowledge of machines and production processes.
- Ability to read and interpret machine manuals, work orders, and technical drawings.
- Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.

- Detail-oriented and quality-focused approach.
Working Conditions:
- Factory floor-based role; requires physical activity and standing for long hours.
- May require working in shifts, extended hours, or weekends during peak demand or urgent production runs.
- Use of safety gear such as gloves, safety shoes, goggles, coats, masks as per company policy.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹360,000.00 - ₹660,000.00 per year
