Role Overview
The NOC Senior Engineer is a senior, hands on operations role focused on running a mature 24×7 Network Operations Center. This position is responsible for advanced incident management, cross domain technical escalation, proactive monitoring maturity, and ensuring operational stability across network, server, cloud, and database platforms. The role acts as the senior technical authority on shift and ensures disciplined NOC execution and follow the sun continuity.
Advanced NOC Responsibilities
.
Act as the L3 technical escalation point and senior authority for P1/P2 incidents.
.
Lead real time incident triage, stabilization, and restoration during major outages.
.
Execute and enforce incident command practices including ownership, timelines, and escalation control.
.
Collaborate with Operations Center (OC) and Incident Managers during Major Incident Management (MIM).
.
Ensure accurate, real time updates and complete post incident documentation in ITSM tools.
.
Enforce adherence to NOC SOPs, runbooks, alert response standards, and escalation matrices.
Proactive Monitoring & Operational Excellence
.
Own the effectiveness of proactive monitoring across all infrastructure layers.
.
Identify alert noise, gaps, and false positives; drive alert tuning and threshold optimization.
.
Improve dashboards, service health views, and early warning indicators.
.
Analyze recurring incidents and drive corrective and preventive actions to reduce MTTD and MTTR.
Shift Leadership & Continuity
.
Serve as the senior technical lead during assigned shifts.
.
Lead structured shift handovers and overlapping coverage between global teams.
.
Mentor L2 and junior engineers during incidents and day to day operations.
.
Drive cross skilling and raise overall NOC technical maturity.
Technical Requirements
.
Cloud Platforms: Advanced operational experience in multi cloud environments (AWS and Azure).
.
Server Engineering: Expert level Linux and Windows server administration, troubleshooting, patching, and performance analysis.
.
Network Engineering Knowledge: Strong understanding of VPC/VNet architecture, subnets, routing tables, DNS, load balancers, firewalls, security groups/NSGs, and connectivity troubleshooting.
.
Database Operations: Solid operational knowledge of cloud databases (AWS RDS/Aurora, Azure SQL); performance symptoms, replication, failover, and availability concepts.
.
Kubernetes & Containers: Operational expertise with Kubernetes (EKS), container orchestration, node/pod health, and workload stability.
.
Automation & Infrastructure as Code: Hands on experience executing and validating Terraform based changes and scripted remediations.
.
Observability & Tooling: Strong hands on experience with CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Splunk, Grafana/Prometheus, and ITSM tools such as ServiceNow or Jira.
Required Experience

7–10 years of experience in advanced NOC, SRE, Cloud Operations, or Infrastructure Support roles.

Demonstrated advanced skills in multi cloud environments, automation, and incident management.
.
Proven experience serving as a technical escalation point for complex, cross domain issues.

Experience operating in 24×7, follow the sun NOC environments.
