The School Transport Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing the safe, efficient, and compliant transportation of students and staff across all school campuses. The role ensures smooth daily transport operations, vehicle maintenance, driver management, statutory compliance, and continuous improvement of transport services.
Key ResponsibilitiesTransport Operations
- Manage the daily operations of the school transport department.
- Plan and optimize bus routes for safety, efficiency, and punctuality.
- Ensure timely pick-up and drop-off of students and staff.
- Monitor GPS tracking and transport operations regularly.
- Handle transport-related emergencies and resolve operational issues promptly.
Fleet Management
- Oversee maintenance, servicing, insurance, permits, fitness certificates, and documentation for all school vehicles.
- Ensure all vehicles comply with statutory and safety regulations.
- Maintain records of vehicle inspections, repairs, fuel consumption, and maintenance schedules.
- Coordinate with vendors and workshops for vehicle servicing and repairs.
Driver & Transport Staff Management
- Supervise drivers, bus attendants, and transport support staff.
- Prepare duty rosters and allocate routes.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and disciplinary actions where required.
- Organize periodic safety training and awareness programs.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to all government regulations and school transport safety guidelines.
- Conduct regular vehicle safety inspections.
- Implement emergency response procedures and accident reporting protocols.
- Ensure all drivers possess valid licenses and required certifications.
Budget & Administration
- Prepare and monitor the transport department budget.
- Control operational costs while maintaining service quality.
- Manage transport-related contracts and vendor relationships.
- Maintain accurate MIS reports and transport records.
Parent & School Coordination
- Address transport-related queries and complaints from parents professionally.
- Coordinate with school principals and administrative teams regarding transport requirements.
- Communicate route changes, delays, and emergency updates effectively.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in any discipline (Diploma/Degree in Transport Management is an added advantage).
- Additional certifications in Transport Management or Fleet Operations are preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in transport or fleet management.
- At least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Experience in school transport management is highly preferred.
- Experience in managing multiple branches/campuses will be an added advantage.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
