We are looking for a Senior WordPress Developer who can build, maintain, and improve high-performance WordPress websites for serious business use cases.
This role is not for someone who only installs themes and plugins. We need someone who understands WordPress at code level, can work with custom themes, plugins, APIs, WooCommerce, performance, security, and production environments.
You should be able to take ownership of technical implementation, make sound architectural decisions, and deliver clean, maintainable work with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Build custom WordPress themes from design files such as Figma, XD, or Sketch.
- Develop and maintain custom WordPress plugins.
- Work with WooCommerce customizations, checkout flows, order logic, product data, and payment-related integrations.
- Create and manage custom post types, taxonomies, fields, templates, and admin workflows.
- Work with ACF, Gutenberg blocks, Elementor, or other page-building systems where required.
- Integrate third-party APIs, CRMs, payment gateways, marketing tools, analytics tools, and automation systems.
- Debug PHP, JavaScript, CSS, WordPress hooks, plugin conflicts, and server-side issues.
- Improve website speed, Core Web Vitals, caching, image loading, database queries, and frontend performance.
- Handle WordPress migrations, staging-to-production deployments, and version control workflows.
- Ensure websites are secure, updated, backed up, and production-ready.
- Review code, guide junior developers, and maintain coding standards.
- Communicate clearly with project managers, designers, and clients when needed.
- Estimate tasks realistically and flag risks early.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of professional WordPress development experience.
- Strong PHP knowledge, especially within WordPress architecture.
- Strong understanding of WordPress hooks, filters, actions, template hierarchy, REST API, WP_Query, and custom plugin development.
- Experience with custom theme development from scratch.
- Solid frontend skills: HTML5, CSS3, SCSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and responsive development.
- Experience with WooCommerce customization.
- Experience with ACF, CPT UI or custom CPT registration, Gutenberg blocks, and WordPress admin customization.
- Good understanding of MySQL and WordPress database structure.
- Experience using Git in a team environment.
- Ability to debug production issues without guesswork.
- Understanding of performance, security, SEO basics, accessibility basics, and cross-browser compatibility.
- Comfortable working with hosting environments, cPanel, SSH, FTP/SFTP, staging sites, backups, and migrations.
Pay: Up to ₹45,000.00 per month
