The Publishing Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the complete lifecycle of book publishing projects from manuscript submission to final delivery. This role ensures that every project moves smoothly through editing, proofreading, design, production, printing, and distribution while maintaining timelines, quality standards, and author satisfaction.
The Publishing Project Manager serves as the central coordination point between authors, editors, proofreaders, designers, printers, distributors, and management.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Management
- Receive and organize manuscripts submitted by authors.
- Create and maintain project schedules for every book.
- Monitor progress and ensure deadlines are met.
- Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
- Prepare weekly project status reports.
Author Coordination
- Act as the primary point of contact for authors.
- Follow up with authors regarding approvals, corrections, and required materials.
- Schedule meetings and review discussions with authors.
- Ensure a professional and positive author experience throughout the publishing process.
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain a master production spreadsheet for all projects.
- Track project costs, deadlines, approvals, and completion status.
- Prepare monthly publishing performance reports.
- Ensure proper digital filing and document management.
Travel Responsibilities
- Travel to meet authors, printers, distributors, bookstores, educational institutions, and publishing partners when required.
- Represent the company during book launches, fairs, literary events, and publishing meetings.
Required Skills

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Google Drive, and email management.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Publishing, Literature, Journalism, Business Administration, Mass Communication, or related fields.
- Experience in publishing, media, content management, project coordination, or operations management preferred.
- Freshers with exceptional organizational skills may also apply.
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
