Position Summary
The Vice Principal serves as a key member of the school leadership team, supporting the Principal in the effective administration, academic management, student welfare, staff supervision, and overall functioning of the school. The Vice Principal plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful implementation of academic programs, maintaining discipline, enhancing teaching standards, and fostering a positive school culture.
The position requires a dynamic educational leader who can coordinate daily operations, mentor staff, support student achievement, and contribute to the strategic growth of the institution.
Key Responsibilities1. Academic Management
- Assist the Principal in planning, implementing, and monitoring academic programs.
- Ensure effective curriculum delivery in accordance with board guidelines.
- Monitor teaching-learning processes and classroom practices.
- Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to teachers.
- Analyze student performance data and recommend improvement strategies.
- Support the implementation of innovative teaching methodologies and educational technologies.
2. School Administration
- Assist in the day-to-day administration and smooth functioning of the school.
- Coordinate academic and non-academic activities across all sections.
- Ensure compliance with school policies, board regulations, and government norms.
- Oversee attendance, timetables, examinations, and academic records.
- Supervise campus operations to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
3. Staff Supervision & Development
- Support recruitment, induction, and orientation of teaching and non-teaching staff.
- Monitor staff performance and professional conduct.
- Organize training programs, workshops, and professional development initiatives.
- Mentor teachers to improve instructional effectiveness and classroom management.
- Foster teamwork, collaboration, and a positive work culture.
4. Student Welfare & Discipline
- Promote a disciplined, respectful, and inclusive school environment.
- Monitor student attendance, behavior, and academic progress.
- Address student concerns and provide guidance when required.
- Coordinate counseling, well-being, and student support initiatives.
- Encourage student participation in academic, cultural, sports, and leadership activities.
5. Parent Relations
- Maintain effective communication with parents and guardians.
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings and school events.
- Address parent concerns professionally and promptly.
- Support initiatives that strengthen parent engagement and satisfaction.
6. Examination & Assessment Management
- Coordinate examination schedules and assessment procedures.
- Ensure fair and transparent conduct of examinations.
- Monitor result analysis and implementation of academic interventions.
- Maintain accurate academic records and documentation.
7. School Development & Growth
- Assist the Principal in implementing school improvement plans.
- Support admission processes, student retention, and enrollment growth.
- Contribute to school branding, outreach, and community engagement activities.
- Participate in planning and execution of institutional development initiatives.
8. Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure adherence to CBSE/State Board guidelines and statutory requirements.
- Maintain documentation required for inspections and audits.
- Support quality assurance initiatives and continuous improvement practices.
- Ensure implementation of child safety and protection policies.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Education or a relevant subject.
- B.Ed. qualification is mandatory.
- Additional certifications in Educational Leadership, Administration, or School Management will be an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 8–12 years of teaching experience.
- At least 3–5 years of experience in a leadership role such as Academic Coordinator, Head of Department, Senior Supervisor, or Vice Principal.
- Experience in CBSE curriculum and school administration preferred.
- Demonstrated success in academic planning, staff management, and student development.
