1. Job Summary
Harsha College of Nursing, Harsha Institutions, invites applications from qualified and experienced nursing professionals for the position of Assistant Professor / Associate Professor / Professor in Obstetrics & Gynaecological Nursing.
The selected candidate will be responsible for classroom teaching, clinical instruction, student mentoring, academic planning, research, assessment, and departmental activities. The faculty member will contribute to high-quality nursing education and clinical training in maternal, newborn, and reproductive health.
2. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct classroom teaching for undergraduate and postgraduate nursing students in Obstetrics & Gynaecological Nursing.
- Prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials, demonstrations, seminars, case studies, case presentations, and other academic activities.
- Supervise students during clinical postings in obstetrics and gynaecology departments.
- Provide clinical teaching in areas including antenatal care, intranatal care, postnatal care, labour room, high-risk pregnancy, neonatal care, and gynaecological units.
- Demonstrate and supervise nursing procedures related to maternal and newborn care.
- Guide students in the assessment and management of pregnant women, mothers, newborns, and patients with gynaecological conditions.
- Supervise students in labour room and ensure adherence to appropriate clinical practices and patient-safety standards.
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, assignments, question papers, and assessment tools.
- Conduct internal assessments, practical examinations, clinical evaluations, and other academic assessments.
- Monitor student attendance, academic performance, clinical competency, and professional conduct.
- Provide academic mentoring and counselling to students.
- Maintain academic, clinical, attendance, examination, and departmental records.
- Participate in curriculum planning, departmental meetings, workshops, seminars, conferences, and faculty development programmes.
- Encourage students to participate in research, evidence-based practice, academic presentations, conferences, and professional activities.
- Undertake research activities and contribute to publications in nursing, maternal health, reproductive health, and related areas.
- Guide students in research projects, dissertations, case studies, presentations, and academic activities, as applicable to the designation.
- Coordinate with affiliated hospitals and clinical partners to facilitate effective OBG clinical training.
- Participate in accreditation, inspection, quality improvement, and institutional documentation activities.
- Promote professional ethics, patient safety, confidentiality, and appropriate clinical practices among students.
- Participate in institutional academic and extracurricular programmes as assigned.
- Perform other academic, clinical, and administrative duties assigned by the Principal / HOD / Management.
3. Academic & Professional Qualifications
- M.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic M.Sc. Nursing with specialization in Obstetrics & Gynaecological Nursing from a recognized institution.
- B.Sc. Nursing qualification from a recognized institution.
- Valid registration with the State Nursing Council, as applicable.
- Candidates should possess the required teaching and clinical experience prescribed for the respective designation by applicable regulatory and University norms.
- Candidates applying for Associate Professor / Professor should meet the required academic qualifications and teaching experience for the respective position.
- Ph.D. in Nursing will be an added advantage for senior academic positions.
- Strong knowledge of maternal health, obstetrics, gynaecology, reproductive health, neonatal care, and evidence-based nursing practice.

6. Responsibilities by Designation
Assistant Professor
- Conduct classroom and clinical teaching as assigned.
- Supervise students during OBG clinical postings.
- Provide guidance in antenatal, intranatal, postnatal, newborn, and gynaecological care.
- Conduct student assessments and maintain academic records.
- Mentor students and support their academic and professional development.
- Participate in departmental research and institutional activities.
Associate Professor
- Undertake advanced classroom and clinical teaching responsibilities.
- Coordinate academic and clinical activities within the OBG Nursing department.
- Guide student research projects and support faculty development.
- Participate in curriculum planning, research, accreditation, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Assist the HOD in departmental academic and administrative activities.
Professor
- Provide academic and professional leadership within the OBG Nursing department.
- Lead academic planning, curriculum development, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Mentor and guide faculty members and students.
- Supervise research and postgraduate academic activities, as applicable.
- Contribute to accreditation, institutional development, clinical collaborations, and strategic academic initiatives.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
