Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated and energetic Business Development Intern to support our partner acquisition efforts in Chennai. The selected candidate will be responsible for identifying, engaging, evaluating, and onboarding painting contractors, applicators, and painting service providers onto the Aapka Painter platform.
This internship provides hands-on exposure to business development, market research, sales outreach, partner onboarding, and marketplace operations while working closely with the leadership team.
Key ResponsibilitiesPartner Identification & Research
- Identify painting contractors, painting service providers, and applicators across Chennai.
- Build and maintain a database of potential partners using:
- Google Maps
- JustDial
- IndiaMART
- Sulekha
- Urban Company
- Local business directories
- Source contractor leads through paint dealers and distributor networks.
Outreach & Cold Calling
- Contact prospective partners via phone calls.
- Introduce Aapka Painter's services and partnership opportunities.
- Assess partner capabilities, experience, and interest levels.
- Schedule meetings and discussions with qualified prospects.
Market Mapping & Research
- Conduct locality-wise mapping of painting contractors across Chennai.
- Understand local market dynamics, pricing structures, and contractor operations.
- Gather competitive intelligence and market insights.
Dealer & Network Engagement
- Connect with paint dealers and distributors to obtain contractor references.
- Build relationships with stakeholders in the painting ecosystem.
Partner Qualification & Onboarding
- Coordinate onboarding discussions between shortlisted contractors and company leadership.
- Assist with documentation and verification processes.
- Support successful activation of partners on the platform.
Reporting & Database Management
- Maintain daily activity reports.
- Track calls made, leads generated, meetings scheduled, and partner activations.
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date records in internal databases.
Eligibility
- Undergraduate or postgraduate students from any discipline.
- Strong interest in Sales, Business Development, Operations, or Entrepreneurship.
- Excellent communication skills in Tamil and English.
- Comfortable making outbound calls and interacting with new people.
- Familiarity with Chennai localities is preferred.
- Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently.

Compensation
Fixed Stipend: ₹10,000 per month
Performance Incentive: ₹1,000 per successfully activated painting service partner
