Experience: 2 to 5 Years
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance:
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on plant electrical equipment including MCC/PCC panels, motors, starters, transformers, and VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives).
- Troubleshoot electrical faults in utility and production equipment (reactors, stirrers, pumps, centrifuges, cooling towers, and boilers).
- Carry out quick breakdown resolution to minimize plant downtime during continuous process runs.
- Flameproof & Hazardous Area Maintenance:
- Maintain and inspect Flameproof (FLP) / Explosion-Proof electrical fittings, junction boxes, and motors in designated hazardous chemical areas.
- Ensure proper earthing/grounding and bonding connections across all equipment and solvent pipelines to prevent static electricity risks.
- Power & Cable Operations:
- Oversee industrial wiring, cable tray layout, glanding, lugging, and termination for LT panels and equipment.
- Operation and routine checkup of DG Sets (Diesel Generators), UPS systems, changeover switches, and capacitor panels for power factor maintenance.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Follow strictly Lockout / Tagout (LOTO) procedures during electrical repairs and maintenance work.
- Work under the Permit to Work (PTW) system (Hot Work, Cold Work, Confined Space) in coordination with the EHS department.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) like insulated gloves, safety shoes, and arc flash gear.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain daily logbooks for DG run hours, power consumption meter readings, shift handover notes, and preventive maintenance checklists.
- Report major electrical spares requirement to the Electrical In-charge / Maintenance Manager.
