Role Overview
We are hiring an Assistant Manager – Legal & Compliance to take complete ownership of legal, statutory, labour, and regulatory compliance across our organization — including our manufacturing plants, warehouses, and branch offices. This is a high-ownership, execution-focused role that involves managing contracts, ensuring compliance across multiple locations, handling legal matters, and building strong internal systems and controls.
Key Responsibilities
Legal & Contract Management
- Draft, review, and negotiate agreements with vendors, suppliers, CFAs, and landlords
- Handle legal notices, disputes, and litigation support
- Liaise with advocates and legal consultants to ensure timely case resolution
Financial & Recovery Compliance
- Manage outstanding payment cases and initiate legal proceedings against defaulting customers where required
- Work with the finance team to implement credit control and risk mitigation frameworks
Statutory & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure adherence to Labour Laws (ESI, PF, wages, bonus, gratuity)
- Ensure compliance with the Factory Act, environmental and pollution control norms, and customs regulations
- Stay updated on regulatory changes and proactively implement compliance measures
Multi-Location Compliance
- Oversee compliance across factories, warehouses, and branch offices
- Conduct periodic compliance audits and reviews across locations
Process & Controls
- Develop SOPs and internal compliance controls
- Ensure audit readiness and maintain complete documentation
- Identify gaps and implement corrective actions
Coordination
- Coordinate with HR, Finance, and Operations for smooth implementation
- Manage relationships with government authorities, auditors, and external consultants
Requirements
- LLB degree preferred; CS or compliance certifications are a plus
- Minimum 5 years of experience in legal and compliance
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or multi-location organizations strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of Indian labour laws, Factory Act, and regulatory frameworks
- Hands-on experience in contract management, recovery handling, and dispute resolution
- Ability to work independently with a high ownership mindset
- Fluent in English and Hindi or Telugu (at least one mandatory)
Pay: From ₹60,000.00 per month
