Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Tender Estimation Engineer to prepare accurate cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), tender documentation, and commercial proposals for government and private sector projects. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in estimation, rate analysis, quantity take-offs, and government tendering processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Study tender documents, drawings, specifications, and contract conditions.
- Prepare accurate BOQs (Bill of Quantities) from drawings and tender documents.
- Perform quantity take-offs for civil, landscaping, horticulture, irrigation, fencing, paving, plantation, and allied works.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting AutoCAD drawings.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates including materials, labour, machinery, transportation, overheads, and contingencies.
- Conduct rate analysis using CPWD, PWD, DSR, SOR, and market rates.
- Prepare technical and commercial bid documents.
- Coordinate with procurement teams to obtain vendor quotations and compare pricing.
- Identify project risks, exclusions, assumptions, and value engineering opportunities.
- Prepare bid summaries, costing sheets, and management approval documents.
- Support bid submission through GeM, CPP Portal, and various State e-Procurement portals.
- Clarify tender queries and prepare pre-bid responses when required.
- Maintain a database of historical costs, vendor rates, and completed project estimates.
- Coordinate with engineering, project execution, finance, and procurement teams during bid preparation.
- Ensure all tender submissions are completed within deadlines and comply with client requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- 2-3 years of experience in tender estimation, quantity surveying, or cost estimation.
- Experience in government tenders is highly preferred.
- Experience in landscaping, horticulture, irrigation, civil, or infrastructure projects is an added advantage.
