Job Summary
Database Administrator : The Database Administrator (L2) is responsible for the installation, configuration, and day‑to‑day operational support of enterprise database platforms across on‑premises and cloud environments. The role ensures high availability, performance, reliability, and security of databases in line with agreed SLAs, security standards, and operational procedures.\r\nThis position provides L2 support for Microsoft SQL Server on Windows, PostgreSQL on Linux/Windows, and Oracle Database, including support for dedicated and clustered database deployments across data centers. Key responsibilities include routine database administration activities such as backups, restores, health and performance monitoring, patching, and basic performance tuning.\r\nThe Database Administrator (L2) works closely with application, OS, and infrastructure teams to investigate and resolve incidents, manage service requests and standard changes, and maintain operational documentation. The role also supports database security, access controls, capacity planning, lifecycle management, and produces periodic database health and performance reports, while operating within an ITIL‑aligned, shift‑based support model.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, and operate Microsoft SQL Server on Windows, PostgreSQL on Linux/Windows, and Oracle Database.\r\n• Provide L2 operational support for dedicated database servers and clustered deployments across data centers.\r\n• Perform routine database administration tasks including backups, restores, and basic performance checks.\r\n• Monitor database health, availability, and performance using defined monitoring standards.\r\n• Handle incidents, service requests, and standard changes within agreed SLAs.\r\n• Coordinate with application and OS teams for issue investigation and resolution.\r\n• Maintain operational documentation and standard operating procedures.\r\n• Produce periodic database performance and health reports \r\n• Perform performance tuning and optimization activities where required \r\n• Apply database patches and updates in line with approved maintenance windows \r\n• Manage database security, access controls, and compliance requirements \r\n• Perform capacity planning, growth forecasting, and lifecycle management for database environments \r\n
Skill Requirements
5-8 Years of Exp managing Database, Database Certified \r\n Handon experience on the databases\r\n Fluent in English \r\n Willingness to work in shifts\r\n Knowledge of Service Now\r\n Windows or Linux awareness for database\r\n Scripting capabilities \r\nB-Tech or equivalent Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field\r\n
