Role Overview
We are looking for a versatile and creative Junior Video Editor to join the Big Socials team. This isn't just about cutting clips; it’s about storytelling. You will be responsible for two primary streams of content: high-energy, "in-house" social media edits designed for maximum engagement, and premium, cinematic "movie-style" edits that showcase high production value and narrative depth.
The ideal candidate has a "cinematic eye," understands the psychology of social media retention.
Key Responsibilities
- Social-First Editing: Create high-retention, "in-house" content for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts, focusing on snappy pacing, trending audio, and engaging hooks.
- Cinematic Storytelling: Edit short-form projects, utilizing advanced pacing, trends, music, and color grading to create an advanced feel.
- Asset Management: Organize raw footage, maintain archives, and ensure all project files are structured for collaborative workflows.
- Trend Adaptation: Stay ahead of social media trends and cinematic techniques to keep Big Socials at the forefront of digital content.
Required Skills & Experience
- Technical Mastery: Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Experience with After Effects (for motion graphics) and CapCut (for rapid social edits) is a major plus.
- Cinematic Eye: A deep passion for cinema.
- Speed & Quality: Ability to deliver high-quality edits on tight deadlines without sacrificing the "premium" touch.
- Audio Proficiency: Strong skills in sound synchronization, leveling, and choosing the right tracks to drive emotional resonance.
- Portfolio: A diverse reel that showcases both viral-style social media content and cinematic/narrative film edits.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fresher / 1+ years of experience in an agency or production house environment.
- Familiarity with AI tools for video (upscaling, generative fill, or AI voice-over integration) is a plus.
- Knowledge of different export formats and aspect ratios for multi-platform distribution.
