Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Tool Design Engineer to design and develop various tooling solutions for electromechanical and electrical products. The role involves end-to-end product development, including concept design, prototyping, tooling development, testing, validation, and manufacturing support. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in tool design, manufacturing processes, and 3D CAD software.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop injection molding, compression molding, stamping, forming, bending, and die-casting tools.
- Create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed 2D manufacturing drawings using CAD software.
- Design components, sub-assemblies, and product assemblies for electrical and electromechanical products.
- Analyze competitor products, manufacturing methods, and technological advancements.
- Develop innovative product concepts and tooling solutions.
- Coordinate with vendors for prototype development, testing, and design validation.
- Modify existing tools and designs based on performance improvements, customer feedback, and manufacturing requirements.
- Conduct product testing and validation throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Analyze test results and implement design improvements to enhance reliability and performance.
- Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, specifications, and design records.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, tooling, quality, electrical, and electronics teams to ensure successful product development and production.
- Provide post-production support and participate in product lifecycle management activities.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable quality and industry standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Tool Design Engineering.
- 3–6+ years of experience in tool design and product development.
- Strong knowledge of injection molds, compression molds, press tools, sheet metal tools, forming and bending tools, and die-casting tools.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar 3D CAD software.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and tooling techniques.
- Knowledge of engineering plastics, metals, and material selection.
- Experience in product testing, validation, and design optimization.
- Familiarity with quality systems and continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, ISO, and Poka-Yoke.
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good documentation and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
Preferred
- Experience in electrical, controlgear, switchgear, or electromechanical product development.
- Exposure to product certification and compliance requirements.
- Experience working in a multinational or manufacturing environment.
Working Hours
- Full-time position
- Monday to Friday
- Occasional weekend or extended-hour support may be required based on project needs.
Travel
- Limited travel may be required for vendor development, tooling trials, and project-related activities.
Pay: ₹800,000.00 - ₹1,000,000.00 per year
