Job Description (JD) – QC Micro Hygienist

Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented QC Micro Hygienist to ensure microbiological safety, plant hygiene, and compliance with food safety standards. The candidate will be responsible for microbiological testing, environmental monitoring, hygiene audits, sanitation verification, and maintaining quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform microbiological testing of raw materials, finished products, water, and environmental samples.
- Conduct environmental monitoring (air, surface, equipment, and personnel hygiene swabs).
- Monitor and verify cleaning and sanitation activities across the production facility.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, GHP, HACCP, FSSAI, ISO 22000, and other food safety standards.
- Carry out hygiene inspections and audits in production and warehouse areas.
- Prepare microbiology media, maintain cultures, and operate laboratory equipment.
- Investigate microbiological deviations and recommend corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Maintain laboratory records, test reports, calibration records, and documentation.
- Coordinate with Production, QA, and Maintenance teams to ensure hygienic manufacturing practices.
- Train production staff on hygiene, sanitation, and food safety practices.
- Ensure proper waste disposal and laboratory housekeeping.
- Participate in internal and external audits.
Required Qualifications
- B.Sc./M.Sc. in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Food Technology, Life Sciences, or a related field.
- 1–5 years of experience in QC Microbiology or Hygiene in the FMCG, Food, Beverage, Dairy, or Pharmaceutical industry.
- Freshers with relevant internship experience may also be considered.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of microbiological testing techniques.
- Familiarity with GMP, GHP, HACCP, FSSAI, ISO 22000, BRCGS, and food safety regulations.
- Experience with environmental monitoring and hygiene validation.
- Proficiency in laboratory documentation and MS Office.
- Understanding of CAPA, root cause analysis, and quality management systems.
