Purpose of the Role

Responsible for overseeing the production process and ensuring that all products, spares and services are delivered on time and meet quality standards before being shipped to customers
Ensure continual improvement on Quality, Delivery and Cost
Continuously improve processes in Assembly function to reduce cost of production and imbibe a culture of cost consciousness in the organisation
Accountable for maintaining COPQ(Cost of Poor Quality) from assembly processes within the acceptable target limits
Improve responsiveness to customer needs
Support the resolution of customer concerns, Identify and eliminate root cause using various methods
Manage and approve amendments that arise due to internal and external customer requirements
Ensure internal delivery processes are aligned to customer requirement to fulfil on time delivery
Ensure and plan resources availability to meet daily requirements for products
Plan, organize and direct the manufacturing operation to ensure effective utilisation of all resources
Liaise and co ordinate with support functions to progress issues concerning production planning / resource and skill allocation.
Develop safe and efficient work place through out the assembly process
Training employees in proper assembly techniques and safety procedures
Managing the assembly of products for shipment by coordinating with suppliers, vendors, and shipping companies
Develop Error Proofing and Quality system for dynamic assembly by doing FMEA
Ensure timely completion of customer complaint analysis and closure.
Review and fulfil the delivery requirements for spares and service
Ensure all external and internal auditory standards and requirements are met.
Review and set key performance indicators and ensure targets are achieved.
Establish accountabilities and work plan for all roles in assembly area
Responsible for on-time First Article Inspection
a) Intract with EI team and customer and form the team
b) Verify and validating MTS.
c) Providing guidelines to do furthur process along with EI team
d) Schedluing the completion of the project
Implementaion of Statistical Process Control
Providing guidelines to raise the PO for bought out items
Interact with customers if there is any clarification on the project
Review, Set, and track suitable targets and KPIs for the team to ensure effective performance and delivery
Ensure adherence to Business Excellence processes in all activities related to the assembly department, through training, practicing, audits and corrective actions
Oversee the workflow and work assignments of the team to ensure effective collaboration among teams, team members and consistent, quality work
Review and approve the amends in the SOP/work instructions for modified/improved processes.
Ensure continual assembly process improvement thru Manufacturing Excellence and LEAN manufacturing techniques
Coordinate with the automation team to identify use cases and drive automation / process improvement initiatives within the assembly function
Ensure all new products pass thru the projects related to manufacturing excellenece and improved processes are implemented
Ensure updation and use of the latest technologies and tools for all activities within assembly department
Facilitate continuous learning and skilling across the function on essential functional and behavioural competencies
Build a robust succession pipeline for the critical roles within the function in coordination with HR
Build a performance oriented culture, by setting up mechanism to identify, recognise, and place performers on career path in the organization.
Monitor functional performance and identify areas of strengths and opportunities for development
Monitor team metrics and objectives ensuring achievement of set targets
