Job Summary
The Senior Engineer – Sheet Metal & Powder Coating is responsible for managing sheet metal manufacturing operations and powder coating processes to achieve production targets while maintaining quality, cost, safety, and delivery requirements. The role involves process improvement, manpower management, equipment utilization, and coordination with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and supervise day-to-day sheet metal production activities.
- Ensure smooth operation of laser cutting, punching, bending, welding, and fabrication processes.
- Monitor and control the complete powder coating process, including surface preparation, pretreatment, coating, curing, and quality inspection.
- Ensure production targets are achieved as per the daily production plan.
- Improve productivity by implementing lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor quality standards and reduce rejection, rework, and process defects.
- Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Planning, Purchase, and Stores departments for uninterrupted production.
- Ensure preventive maintenance of machines and production equipment.
- Analyze production data and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, 5S, and company policies.
- Train and guide operators and supervisors on process improvements and best manufacturing practices.
- Support new product development and process validation activities.
- Drive cost reduction and waste elimination initiatives.
Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
Experience
- 5–8 years of experience in sheet metal manufacturing.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in powder coating operations.
- Experience in a furniture, automotive, engineering, or fabrication manufacturing industry is preferred.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes.
- Hands-on experience with laser cutting, CNC punching, CNC bending, welding, and fabrication.
- Strong understanding of powder coating systems and quality standards.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of production planning and process optimization.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, TPM, and root cause analysis.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.

Pay: ₹600,000.62 - ₹700,000.28 per year
