Job Description:
The ART Counsellor is responsible for providing counselling and psychosocial support to HIV/AIDS patients attending the ART Centre. The counsellor helps patients understand their treatment, encourages medication adherence, maintains confidentiality, conducts follow-up activities, and coordinates with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. The role also includes patient education, record maintenance, report preparation, and participation in HIV/AIDS awareness programs.
Job Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide individual and family counselling to HIV/AIDS patients.
- Conduct pre-test and post-test counselling sessions.
- Educate patients about ART treatment and medication adherence.
- Maintain counselling records and prepare monthly reports.
- Follow up with patients who miss appointments or treatment.
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Conduct awareness and health education programs.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and counselling skills.
- Strong interpersonal and listening abilities.
- Knowledge of HIV/AIDS and ART services.
- Record-keeping and documentation skills.
- Computer proficiency (MS Office and data entry).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and empathy towards patients.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
