JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a skilled and certified Maintenance Electrician to ensure the proper functioning of all electrical systems throughout our 4-star hotel. The successful candidate will perform installations, repairs, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance on electrical equipment, ensuring safety, compliance, and uninterrupted operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Electrical Maintenance & Repairs:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, circuits, switches, outlets, and lighting systems
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical problems in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house
- Perform routine inspections of electrical panels, breakers, and distribution systems
- Repair and replace faulty electrical equipment, fixtures, and appliances
- Maintain emergency lighting, backup generators, and UPS systems
- Ensure all electrical work complies with safety codes and regulations
Preventive Maintenance:
- Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance on all electrical systems
- Inspect and test electrical equipment regularly
- Document maintenance activities and maintain service records
- Identify potential issues before they cause system failures
Guest Room & Facility Support:
- Respond promptly to electrical maintenance requests from guest rooms
- Install and maintain HVAC electrical components
- Maintain electrical systems for kitchen equipment, elevators, and laundry facilities
- Assist with installation of new electrical fixtures and appliances
Safety & Compliance:
- Follow all electrical safety protocols and lockout/tagout procedures
- Ensure compliance with local electrical codes and hotel safety standards
- Work safely with high and low voltage systems
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
Collaboration:
- Work with other maintenance staff on building repairs and renovations
- Coordinate with external contractors for specialized electrical work
- Recommend equipment upgrades and energy-efficient solutions

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Essential:
- Diploma/Certificate in Electrical Engineering or related trade
- Valid electrical license/certification
- 3+ years of experience as an electrician, preferably in hospitality industry
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and troubleshooting
- Experience with low voltage and high voltage systems
- Knowledge of generators, UPS, and emergency power systems
- Ability to read electrical blueprints and schematics
- Physical ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and lift up to 25 kg
- Own basic electrical tools and equipment
- Fluency in Tamil and English
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and on-call
Preferred:
- Experience in hotel or commercial building maintenance
- Knowledge of energy management systems
- Familiarity with LED lighting
