Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and responsible Steward Captain to supervise the stewarding team and ensure smooth, hygienic, and efficient back-of-house operations. The ideal candidate should have good leadership skills and experience in restaurant, hotel, or hospitality operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the stewarding team.
- Ensure proper cleaning and sanitation of kitchen equipment, utensils, crockery, cutlery, and work areas.
- Monitor the availability and cleanliness of all kitchen and service equipment.
- Allocate duties and manage the stewarding team effectively during shifts.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Coordinate with the kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor cleaning schedules and ensure all tasks are completed on time.
- Control the usage of cleaning materials and minimise wastage.
- Maintain proper storage and handling of chemicals and cleaning equipment.
- Report damaged or missing equipment to the concerned manager.
- Train and guide stewards on proper cleaning procedures and SOPs.
- Ensure the stewarding area is organised and maintained at all times.
- Assist in maintaining inventory of crockery, cutlery, kitchen equipment, and cleaning supplies.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in stewarding operations.
- Previous experience as a Steward Captain or Senior Steward is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of hygiene, sanitation, and cleaning procedures.
- Good team-handling and leadership skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Flexible to work in rotational shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Qualification
- Minimum 12th pass; Diploma/Degree in Hotel Management or Hospitality is preferred.
Immediate joiners / candidates with short notice periods will be preferred.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
