Key Responsibilities
- Diagnosis: Evaluate causes of infertility (PCOS, endometriosis, uterine anomalies, or ovulatory disorders) via transvaginal ultrasounds, follicular scans, hormone profiles, and hysterosalpingography (HSG)
- Treatment Planning: Prescribe hormone stimulation protocols and manage underlying reproductive conditions.
- Procedures: Perform or oversee fertility procedures such as Intrauterine Insemination (IUI), Ovum Pick-Up (OPU), Embryo Transfer (ET), and minor fertility-enhancing surgeries (e.g., hysteroscopy, laparoscopy).
- Patient Support: Counsel patients on reproductive options, egg/sperm freezing, and set realistic expectations regarding treatment outcomes.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with embryologists, andrologists, and nursing staff to ensure optimal lab and clinical results.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Medical Degree (MBBS/MD/DO) followed by specialized residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN).
- Fellowship/Certification: Board certification or fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) or Infertility/ART.
- Technical Skills: High proficiency in gynecological ultrasonography, endoscopy, and surgical fertility interventions.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional emotional intelligence, active listening, and strong communication skills to support patients experiencing stress or grief
