Job Purpose
The Transport Incharge is responsible for the overall management, coordination, safety, and efficiency of the school's transportation system. The role ensures safe and timely transportation of students and staff, compliance with statutory regulations, proper maintenance of vehicles, and effective supervision of drivers and transport support staff.
Key Responsibilities1. Transport Operations Management
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor daily transportation activities.
- Ensure timely arrival and departure of all school buses.
- Develop and optimize bus routes for efficiency and student safety.
- Maintain accurate records of student transport allocations and route details.
- Handle transportation-related inquiries and concerns from parents and staff.
2. Vehicle Maintenance and Compliance
- Ensure all school vehicles are maintained in roadworthy condition.
- Schedule preventive maintenance, repairs, servicing, and inspections.
- Monitor fuel consumption and vehicle performance.
- Maintain records of vehicle registration, permits, insurance, fitness certificates, pollution certificates, and other statutory documents.
- Coordinate with service providers and workshops for repairs and maintenance.
3. Safety and Security
- Ensure strict adherence to transport safety regulations and school policies.
- Conduct regular safety inspections of buses and transport equipment.
- Verify that buses are equipped with mandatory safety devices and emergency equipment.
- Monitor compliance with student safety protocols during transportation.
- Investigate and report accidents, incidents, and safety concerns promptly.
4. Staff Supervision
- Supervise drivers, bus attendants, and transport support staff.
- Prepare duty rosters and deployment schedules.
- Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, grooming, and professional conduct.
- Conduct regular meetings and training sessions on safety, discipline, and customer service.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
