Job Purpose:
To deliver high-quality Geography instruction to Senior Secondary students (IGCSE & AS/A Level – Cambridge International), fostering critical thinking, global awareness, and strong analytical and research skills in alignment with the CIE framework.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in accordance with the Cambridge International (CIE) syllabus for IGCSE, AS, and A Level Geography.
Develop annual, term, and weekly lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and learning outcomes.
Prepare students for internal assessments, coursework, practicals, and external Cambridge examinations.
Design assignments, case studies, fieldwork activities, and projects to enhance conceptual understanding and application.
Organize and supervise field trips and geographical investigations as required by the curriculum.
Assess, evaluate, and provide timely feedback on student performance through tests, assignments, and examinations.
Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and assessment data.
Integrate ICT tools, maps, GIS, and other modern teaching resources to support experiential learning.
Differentiate instruction to cater to varied learning abilities and ensure inclusive education.
Provide academic guidance and mentorship to students.
Collaborate with colleagues for interdisciplinary projects and curriculum development.
Participate actively in staff meetings, professional development programs, school events, and parent interactions.
Ensure a safe, disciplined, and positive classroom environment.
Qualifications & Experience:
Postgraduate degree (M.A./M.Sc.) in Geography with B.Ed. (mandatory).
Minimum 3–5 years of teaching experience at the secondary/senior secondary level.
Prior experience teaching Cambridge (IGCSE/AS/A Level) curriculum preferred.
Strong knowledge of physical, human, and environmental geography concepts.
Experience in conducting fieldwork and project-based learning is desirable.
