Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning, safety, and upkeep of all hospital infrastructure, medical equipment support systems, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and facility utilities in an IVF hospital environment. The role is critical to maintaining uninterrupted clinical operations and compliance with healthcare standards.
Key Responsibilities:1. Facility Maintenance
- Perform routine inspection and maintenance of hospital infrastructure
- Ensure proper functioning of lighting, power supply, water supply, and drainage systems
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of building equipment
2. Equipment & Utility Support
- Support maintenance of non-clinical and utility equipment (HVAC, RO plants, DG sets, air compressors, etc.)
- Coordinate with biomedical engineers/vendors for medical equipment servicing
- Ensure uninterrupted power backup systems (UPS, generators)
3. Electrical & Plumbing Work
- Handle minor electrical repairs, wiring issues, and fittings
- Maintain plumbing systems, washrooms, and water lines
- Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergencies
4. HVAC & Environmental Control
- Monitor temperature, humidity, and air filtration systems (critical in IVF labs and OT areas)
- Ensure clean room and lab environment compliance support
5. Safety & Compliance
- Follow hospital safety protocols and infection control standards
- Ensure fire safety equipment is functional (extinguishers, alarms, exits)
- Assist in audits related to facility and safety compliance
6. Vendor Coordination
- Coordinate with external service providers for repairs and AMC services
- Supervise vendor work to ensure quality and timely completion
7. Documentation
- Maintain maintenance logs and service records
- Report breakdowns, repairs, and preventive maintenance activities
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- ITI / Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering
- 2–5 years of experience in hospital / healthcare facility maintenance preferred
- Knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, and DG sets
- Basic understanding of biomedical support systems (preferred in IVF setup)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in emergency and shift-based environments
