About the Role
Ex-RBI experience is strongly preferred, particularly candidates with exposure to banking regulation, credit, supervision, financial institutions or corporate finance.
We are looking for a senior Head of Finance who can take complete ownership of the company's finance function and, most importantly, build strong banking and financial-institution relationships to arrange funding for a growing startup.
The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of RBI regulations, banking, NBFCs, credit processes, working-capital finance and business funding, with the ability to understand a startup's financial requirements and structure suitable funding solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the complete Finance & Treasury function of the company.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with banks, NBFCs, financial institutions and other lenders.
- Arrange and manage Working Capital Loans, CC, OD, Term Loans, LC, BG, Bill Discounting, Invoice/Receivable Financing and other structured finance facilities.
- Identify suitable funding options based on the company's business model, cash flow, stock position and working-capital requirements.
- Lead the complete loan/funding process from proposal preparation and lender discussions to sanction, documentation and disbursement.
- Prepare strong financial projections, CMA data, business plans, cash-flow projections and funding proposals for banks and NBFCs.
- Understand and manage banking documentation, security requirements, collateral, guarantees, covenants, interest rates, repayment structures and other lending formalities.
- Negotiate with lenders for better interest rates, limits, repayment terms and working-capital facilities.
- Develop a funding strategy to support the company's growth, inventory procurement and working-capital requirements.
- Monitor cash flow, fund utilization, debt exposure, repayment schedules and banking limits.
- Ensure timely compliance with banking, financial, statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with management to improve the company's financial strength, banking profile and creditworthiness.
- Build the finance function, MIS, controls and processes suitable for a fast-growing startup.
Candidate Profile
The candidate should ideally have:
- 20+ years of experience in Finance, Banking, Credit, Treasury, Corporate Finance or Financial Institutions.
- Ex-RBI experience preferred, especially in Banking Regulation, Credit, Supervision, Financial Institutions or related functions.
- Strong working knowledge of Banks, NBFCs and other financial institutions.
- Deep understanding of CC, OD, Term Loans, Working Capital Finance, LC, BG, Bill Discounting and other debt facilities.
- Strong knowledge of credit appraisal, CMA preparation, financial analysis and loan documentation.
- Excellent relationships with senior officials in banks, NBFCs and financial institutions.
- Ability to independently raise funds for a startup/business and negotiate with lenders.
- Strong understanding of balance sheet, P&L, cash flow, working capital and financial ratios.
- Excellent negotiation, communication and relationship-management skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to build systems and processes from the ground up.
What We Expect
This is not a conventional accounting-only Finance Head position.
We are looking for a strategic Finance Head who can act as the company's financial bridge with banks, NBFCs and financial institutions, understand how lenders evaluate businesses, and actively help the company secure adequate and cost-effective funding for growth.
Key Success Measure:
Ability to establish strong financial systems and successfully support the company in obtaining bank limits, working-capital facilities, loans and other institutional financial support.
Pay: ₹80,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
