Job Summary
The Biomedical Engineer will be responsible for installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and technical support of medical devices and healthcare equipment. The role requires close coordination with customers, vendors, and internal departments to ensure optimum performance of medical equipment and high customer satisfaction
Key Responsibilities
1. Installation & Commissioning
- Install, configure, and commission medical devices at customer sites.
- Perform equipment validation and acceptance testing.
- Ensure proper documentation of installation activities.
2. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
- Conduct preventive maintenance as per service schedules.
- Diagnose and repair equipment breakdowns within defined turnaround times.
- Maintain service records, maintenance logs, and equipment history cards.
3. Calibration & Quality Assurance
- Perform calibration and performance verification of medical equipment.
- Ensure compliance with applicable quality and safety standards.
- Support audits, inspections, and accreditation requirements.
4. Technical Support
- Provide onsite and remote technical support to customers.
- Coordinate with manufacturers and vendors for advanced troubleshooting.
- Escalate critical technical issues and monitor closure.
5. Customer Training
- Train doctors, nurses, technicians, and hospital staff on proper equipment usage.
- Conduct product demonstrations and user awareness programs.
- Develop user manuals and training materials.
6. Inventory & Documentation Management
- Maintain equipment inventory, spare parts records, and asset registers.
- Prepare service reports, calibration certificates, and compliance documentation.
- Track AMC/CMC contracts and warranty status.
7. Vendor & Procurement Coordination
- Coordinate with suppliers for spare parts procurement and repairs.
- Evaluate technical specifications of equipment and accessories.
- Support procurement and tender-related technical evaluations.
Qualifications
- B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- 1–2 years of experience in medical devices, healthcare technology.
- Freshers with strong technical knowledge may also be considered.
- Knowledge of medical equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and customer-handling abilities.
- Ability to travel extensively for field service activities.
