The Senior SSIS Developer is responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, and supporting enterprise-grade ETL solutions using Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). The role includes technical leadership, solution design, code reviews, performance tuning, and mentoring junior developers.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop complex SSIS packages for data integration and migration.
- Analyze source-to-target mapping documents and business requirements.
- Develop ETL processes for batch and incremental data loads.
- Implement error handling, auditing, logging, and restartability mechanisms.
- Optimize SSIS package performance and SQL queries.
- Design ETL frameworks, reusable components, and deployment standards.
- Work with SQL Server, stored procedures, views, and functions.
- Support production deployments and incident resolution.
- Coordinate with business analysts, DBAs, architects, and testing teams.
- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers.
- Ensure adherence to data quality, security, and governance standards.
Required Skills
- 8-10 years of IT experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on SSIS development.
- Strong SQL Server and T-SQL expertise.
- Experience with ETL architecture and data warehousing concepts.
- Strong understanding of performance tuning and optimization.
- Experience with scheduling tools such as SQL Server Agent.
- Experience with source systems such as SQL Server, Flat Files, CSV, XML, and APIs.
- Knowledge of Source Control (Git, Azure DevOps, TFS).
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
