We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, with experience in the construction and/or IT industry preferred.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting day-to-day accounting operations, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and financial transactions.
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
- Prepare invoices, payment records, receipts, and other accounting documents.
- Perform bank, supplier, customer, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
- Monitor expenses, project costs, and budgets.
- For construction-related activities, track project expenses, subcontractor payments, material costs, and other project-related financial information.
- Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, customers, and external accountants/auditors as required.
- Assist with payroll-related accounting activities and statutory requirements, where applicable.
- Maintain proper documentation and filing of financial records.
- Support tax preparation and other statutory compliance requirements.
- Identify discrepancies and assist in resolving accounting issues.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial and business information.
- Perform other accounting duties as reasonably required by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
- Experience with accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, Xero, Zoho Books, SAP, or similar systems is an advantage.
- Construction industry accounting experience is preferred.
- IT industry accounting experience is preferred.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel, including formulas and basic financial reporting.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational, analytical, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with project accounting, job costing, or construction-related financial reporting.
- Experience handling subcontractor accounts, purchase orders, project expenses, and cost tracking.
- Experience working with an IT/services-based business environment.
- Professional accounting qualification or relevant certification is an advantage.
