Job Description – Poclain Operator (Excavator Operator)
Position: Poclain Operator / Excavator Operator
Department: Operations & Plant Machinery
Location: Project Site / Waste Processing Plant
Job Summary
The Poclain Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of Poclain (Excavator) machines for waste handling, windrow turning, loading/unloading, excavation, biomining, composting operations, and material movement within the plant. The operator shall ensure maximum machine productivity while following all safety and operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate Poclain/Excavator equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform loading, unloading, excavation, material shifting, and stockpile management activities.
- Carry out windrow formation and turning activities as per composting and FCO guidelines.
- Feed waste and other materials into processing equipment as directed.
- Assist in biomining, landfill remediation, and MSW processing operations.
- Conduct daily pre-start and post-operation inspections of the machine.
- Monitor fuel, hydraulic oil, coolant, and lubrication levels.
- Report mechanical defects, breakdowns, and maintenance requirements immediately.
- Ensure proper utilization of machine operating hours and productivity targets.
- Maintain daily logbooks, fuel records, and equipment checklists.
- Follow site safety regulations, PPE requirements, and company SOPs.
- Coordinate with supervisors, maintenance teams, and plant operators for smooth operations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum qualification: 8th Pass / 10th Pass.
- Valid Heavy Equipment Operator certification (preferred).
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience operating Poclain/Excavator machines.
- Experience in MSW processing, composting, biomining, mining, construction, or infrastructure projects is preferred.
Required Skills

Reporting To: Plant Manager / Operations Supervisor / Fleet Manager
Salary: As per company policy and experience.
Pay: ₹9,190.23 - ₹29,725.09 per month
