We are looking for: Project Engineer / Electrical – LV Switchgear/ LVMCC Engineering
You’ll make an impact by:
- Lead the engineering design and development of Low Voltage (LV) Switchgear and Motor Control Center (LVMCC) solutions in accordance with customer specifications, project requirements, applicable standards, and company engineering guidelines.
- Analyse customer specifications, single-line diagrams, datasheets, and contractual documents to define the project scope, identify technical requirements, and establish engineering deliverables.
- Develop optimized and cost-effective switchgear solutions through detailed evaluation of electrical distribution systems by preparing the Schematics, Wiring Diagrams, Bill oof material, component selection, and system architecture.
- Perform engineering calculations including fault current analysis, busbar sizing, load assessment, voltage drop evaluation, equipment rating verification, and protection coordination studies.
- Define and implement protection philosophies, relay schemes, control logic, and interlocking requirements to ensure system safety, reliability, and operational continuity.
- Prepare electrical drawing packages (including panel arrangements, nameplate schedule, schematic diagrams, communication drawings, three-line diagrams, general arrangement drawings, and wiring diagrams) for factory manufacturing of the switchgear and customer documentation using engineering design tools.
- Prepare drawings for MCC products and functions of RVSS, VFD, switching starters, intelligent devices, and LVMCC auxiliary equipment
- Ensure quality compliance of all engineering deliverables, follow the project process and guidelines
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards including NEMA, ANSI, IEEE, UL, NEC, IEC, and customer-specific engineering requirements.
- Collaborate closely with proposal, application engineering, project management, procurement, manufacturing, testing, and commissioning teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
- Support technical bid reviews, customer clarifications, design review meetings, and engineering discussions throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, designers, and drafting teams to ensure consistency and engineering excellence.
- Support manufacturing and testing activities by resolving design issues, reviewing non-conformances, and implementing corrective actions.
- Prepare and validate project closeout documentation, including as-built drawings, engineering reports, equipment manuals, and final turnover packages.
- Drive engineering standardization, continuous improvement initiatives, and best practices to enhance productivity, quality, and design consistency.

- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
- 6+ years of engineering experience in Switchgear or control panels for EPC, engineering, manufacturing, utility, or industrial corporate environment.
- An advanced degree may be substituted for 4 years of experience.
- Experience with the design and application of electrical power distribution products and power systems/ power delivery (Switchgear).
- Knowledge of relay P&C schemes, schematics, and communication network diagrams.
- Ability to analyse customers’ technical documentation to interpret and apply appropriate Siemens product offerings to meet the customers’ expectations in a cost-effective and timely manner and offer alternative solutions to optimize profitability while meeting customer needs.
- Familiarity with the products and functions of RVSS, VFD, switching starters, intelligent devices, and LVMCC auxiliary equipment
- Basic financial knowledge to understand and participate in ongoing business planning and support the product as well as project lifecycle management processes.
- Excellent collaboration, leadership, and decision-making skills in a team environment, and demonstrated ability to perform and prioritize multiple, simultaneous tasks while maintaining excellent customer service.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively and accurately communicate with internal and external customers.
- Ability to identify market trends and, using this information, work closely with Marketing and Technology to create and justify projects to close the identified gaps.
- Excellent PC skills including Microsoft Office tools and product configuration/pricing applications.
- Experience with Electrical and 2D Layout drawing tools such as EPLAN, AutoCAD, Visio, etc.
- Travel Required – Less than 10%.
