POSITION SUMMARY
The SEO & Content Specialist is the organic growth engine of the marketing team. Your primary focus is FlooringMart.com — a large-scale e-commerce platform that needs comprehensive keyword coverage, optimized product and category pages, and a library of 100+ resource and educational content pages. You will also contribute SEO content for MichaelFlooringUSA.com and MichaelSurfaceSolutions.com. You report to the Marketing Manager and collaborate closely with the Social Media & Email Specialist.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Search Engine Optimization
- Conduct comprehensive keyword research for U.S. flooring, tile, and home improvement markets across all three brands and upcoming other projects as well
- Perform on-page SEO optimization for product pages, category pages, landing pages, and blog content
- Optimize metadata, URLs, heading structures, image alt text, and internal linking across all three websites
- Execute technical SEO audits using Screaming Frog and Google Search Console — identify and resolve crawl errors, site speed issues, and indexing problems
- Build and manage an internal linking strategy that distributes authority across FlooringMart.com’s large product catalog
- Monitor keyword rankings, organic traffic, and page performance weekly using SEMrush and Ahrefs
- Conduct competitor analysis and benchmarking against Floor & Decor, Lumber Liquidators, and other national flooring e-commerce brands
Local SEO Support
- Support Google Business Profile management and local citation building for MichaelFlooringUSA.com and MSS in the Bakersfield and California markets
- Create and optimize local landing pages for target California cities and market segments
- Monitor local ranking performance and Google Maps visibility for both retail and commercial brands
Content Creation & Strategy
- Write and publish SEO optimized blog posts, buying guides, how-to articles, and educational resource pages — primarily for FlooringMart.com (targeting 100+ resource pages in Year 1) also Includes content planning, keyword strategy, and content development
- Write and optimize product descriptions for FlooringMart.com’s catalog (LVT, hardwood, tile, area rugs, and related categories)
- Create commercial-focused content for MSS — project case studies, specification sheets, and contractor-facing service pages
- Develop content for MichaelFlooringUSA.com covering showroom services, flooring categories, and Bakersfield local market topics
- Use AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini) to assist with content drafting and optimization — with human review and U.S.-market tone adjustment
- Maintain and plan content calendar and SEO campaign aligned with the Marketing Manager’s editorial plan
AI Search Optimization (GEO)
- Optimize content to appear in AI-powered search results on ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Perplexity
- Implement schema markup and structured data to improve visibility in AI and traditional search engines
- Monitor brand citation and visibility across AI platforms
Reporting
- Deliver weekly SEO performance reports covering keyword rankings, organic traffic, and content publishing output
- Track and report on content ROI — which pages generate the most traffic and leads
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- 4–6 years of experience in SEO and content marketing
- Strong understanding of U.S. consumer search behavior and buying patterns in e-commerce or home improvement categories
- Proven track record of improving organic rankings and growing website traffic with measurable data
- Experience writing SEO content in fluent, natural American English — not translated or AI-only content
- Experience with large product catalog SEO (e-commerce preferred) — comfortable working with 1,000+ page sites
- Hands-on experience with technical SEO audits and implementation
TOOLS REQUIRED
- SEMrush and/or Ahrefs — keyword research, rank tracking, backlink analysis
- Google Search Console and Google Analytics 4 — performance monitoring
- Screaming Frog SEO Spider — technical audits
- WordPress or Magento CMS — content publishing
- AI writing tools: Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, SurferSEO, or similar
- Canva — for basic content graphics (blog header images, infographics)

EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, or a related field
SUCCESS METRICS — FIRST YEAR
- Publish 80–100 SEO-optimized resource and blog pages for FlooringMart.com
- Improve organic search rankings for 50+ target keywords across all three brands
- Increase FlooringMart.com organic traffic by 80% or more from baseline
- Complete full technical SEO audit and resolution for all three websites
- Establish top-3 Google Maps rankings for MichaelFlooringUSA and MSS in Bakersfield

WORK HOURS
Standard India business hours with flexibility. Partial U.S. Pacific Time overlap preferred for weekly team calls (approximately 2–3 hours per week). Core deliverables are output-based, not time-clock-based.
Pay: ₹700,000.00 - ₹1,200,000.00 per year
