Role Overview
The Vice Principal will support the Principal in the overall academic and administrative leadership of RNSIT, ensuring institutional excellence, regulatory compliance, and the holistic development of faculty and students.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Principal in day-to-day academic administration, timetabling, and examination coordination as per VTU norms.
- Ensure compliance with AICTE, VTU, UGC, and Karnataka government regulations; lead NBA/NAAC accreditation processes.
- Provide academic leadership to Heads of Departments; drive faculty development programmes and research initiatives.
- Oversee student discipline, grievance redressal, and welfare activities; support co-curricular and placement initiatives.
- Contribute to strategic planning, institutional development, industry collaborations, and funded research projects.
- Coordinate infrastructure utilisation, resource planning, and preparation of statutory reports and regulatory returns.
Qualifications & Eligibility
- Ph.D. (Doctorate) in Computer Science & Engineering or Electronics & Communication Engineering — mandatory.
- First Class or equivalent at both UG and PG levels in the relevant engineering discipline.
- Minimum 15 years of post-qualification experience in an engineering institution, with a significant tenure as HOD / Dean / Vice Principal or equivalent senior academic leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of AICTE/VTU/UGC norms, accreditation processes, and autonomous institution governance.
- Research publications in peer-reviewed journals; experience in funded projects is desirable.
